Radiesse

is an injectable filler for laugh lines around the nose and mouth. Radiesse™ is made of the same mineral component found in teeth and bones, Calcium Hydroxylapatite. It has been used for many years in patients with bladder and throat cancers, and for facial and dental prosthetic implants. Radiesse™ requires no allergy testing and remains soft in tissue.

Radiesse is considered a longer-lasting filler and a single syringe can last up to 6-9 months. When additional Radiesse is administered at about 8 weeks, it can last up to 1-2 years. As it is reabsorbed, patients come in for touch ups as needed. This procedure requires only a numbing cream and takes about 45 minutes. The best areas to treat include the "laugh lines" and the lines from the mouth to the jaw called the "marionette lines".
